Attack on PM was "attempted murder," says minister

Mihajlovic said this in a reaction to a statement by Bakir Izetbegovic, Bosniak member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency, who said he believes that the attack on Vucic was not an attempted assassination, but rather a spontaneous reaction of the masses.

Noting that Izetbegovic had invited Vucic to the commemoration, Mihajlovic asked whether he as a host in his country "was not the one responsible for the security of his guests."

She then asked Izetbegovic "how he came to the conclusion that there was no attempted assassination in Potocari on July 11, but rather a spontaneous reaction of the masses”.

“This was an attempted murder Mr. Izetbegovic, because the motive of the attack has a political background and is politically motivated,” Mihajlovic said.

“It is completely irrelevant whether a statesman is attacked with stones, weapons, poisoned or his plane is crashed. The objective is what matters,” Mihajlovic said, adding that it was "a shame that to date no one has been arrested for the attack on Vucic."
