"The key goal of the protests must be to create conditions for fair elections. That is the most important issue at the moment that unites the entire opposition. It is a question of the survival of democracy and politics in Serbia, and in general the possibility of changing this criminal system," Tadic told the weekly NIN.

According to him, it is more realistic for the opposition to boycott the elections than for the authorities fulfill the conditions for fair elections.

"The authorities' refusal to establish normal electoral conditions leads to a non-parliamentary struggle. It was the same in the 1990s. A part of the international community is more interested in Vucic delivering the recognition of Kosovo's independence to them, than in the preservation of democracy in Serbia. That's a disgraceful role of some European politicians. But even so, the international community would not be able to turn a blind eye to a boycott of elections," said Tadic.

Speaking about the protests in Belgrade, he said that every protest makes sense if it is designed in accordance with previously clearly defined political demands and goals.

"We can not behave like earthworms that only reflexively respond to outside stimuli, and therefore it is not enough to, as pre-politics of society, only react to the attempt to kill Borko Stefanovic, instead these protests, along with the demands for the removal of Vucic's reign, must promote higher goals and concrete development policy and change, just as it is happening these days in France," Tadic said.

He said that he asked for a TV debate with Vucic, in order to "put an end to Vucic's pathological lies about the results of his authorities, which are the core of each of his public addresses and the foundation of his rule in Serbia."

According to Tadic, this debate is needed to "demystify his rule with lies and try to awaken the citizens of Serbia from the Goebbelsian hypnosis to which they have been exposed for years."

"With these lies, for six years the responsibility for one's own mistakes and crime is being shifted to the former government. He doesn't dare accept because he is a pathological liar," Tadic said, adding that while he served as president, he had debates "with anyone who asked."

He said he wishes everyone "a happier new year than the previous one," and added that "the atmosphere in Serbian society is the sickest in the last few decades."

"Vucic is a man who knows very well the political value of money. Today, a new financial-political oligarchy that governs Serbia has been formed, and this will be the biggest problem for anyone who comes to power," Tadic said.

According to him, "six years of missed opportunities are enough."

"Let's finally replace this evil," the SDS leader said.
