1 dead, 2 seriously hurt as migrants clash in Belgrade

One person has been killed and two others seriously injured when two groups of migrants clashed, using knives, in central Belgrade this Monday.

The injured persons have been taken to the Clinical Center of Serbia's Emergency Center where the doctors were attempting to save their lives this afternoon.

The victim has been identified as S.G., a citizen of Afghanistan.

An Interior Ministry (MUP) source told Tanjug earlier that the incident took place around 15:00 CET in Kamenicka Street.

B92 has learned from the Emergency Center that one of those injured was found in Brankova Street.

B92 has also learned that a second fight took place this afternoon in front of the McDonald's fast food restaurant located in the same street.

The police have arrested five suspects and are currently holding them in custody. Knives have been found in their possession, the news agency said.

Members of the MUP continue with intensive work to shed light on the case.


Six cars torched overnight in Belgrade

Six cars in three different locations in Belgrade have been set on fire, the state broadcaster RTS is reporting.
