The U.S. Department of Justice announced that it had issued an indictment against Mevlid Jasarevic on charges of attempted murder and other violations. Jasarevic has been indicted in connection to an attack on the U.S. embassy building in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, in October 2011. According to the website of the U.S. Department of Justice, the 10-count indictment announced by a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia charges Jasarevic, among other things, with attempt to murder U.S. officers and nationals, assault of U.S. officers or employees with a deadly weapon and destruction of property. The US will continue to cooperate fully with authorities in Bosnia-Herzegovina to bring to justice those involved. The case is being investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office, the release reads. The Bosnian Prosecutor's Office previously issued indictments against Mevlid Jasarevic from Novi Pazar (Serbia), Emrah Fojnica from Zenica (Bosnia) and Munib Ahmetspasic from Gornja Maoca (Bosnia), related to the same case. All three indictees are in prison, and Jasarevic's lawyer Senad Dupovac stated Tuesday that the Bosnian Prosecutor's Office will request a 20-year sentence for Jasarevic.
