New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) leader Behgjet Pacolli said he would request the office of Kosovo president in return for entering the new government. He added that he would bring back all Serbs to Kosovo and help northern Kosovo achieve economic independence. AKR leader: Economic autonomy for north “I will bring back all Serbs to Kosovo. Kosovo must be multiethnic because only then can it be attractive to foreign investors... We need to invest a lot into the economy, as well as the rule of law, which must be the same for everyone,” Pacolli told daily Politika. The AKR leader said he would like northern Kosovo to become a free economic zone, which would attract investors. “We plan to invest major capital and create at least two to three thousand jobs to start. The north would be economically independent,” he pointed out. He stressed he would not enter a coalition if he did not get the presidential office, and that he would also be asking for the ministries of economy, health and at least one other. Asked whether he as a president would prosecute Hashim Thaci if the allegations in Dick Marty's report proved accurate, Pacolli said that everyone would be equal before the law and that no one could be above it. He said he had big expectations from the upcoming talks between Belgrade and Pristina, but that Belgrade needed to accept the reality that Kosovo was a state and no longer drag out the recognition of its independence.
