Croatian police have banned a gathering of European extreme right-wing parties that was supposed to be held next weekend in Zagreb.

Croatian police have banned a gathering of European extreme right-wing parties that was supposed to be held next weekend in Zagreb. The rally was organized by the far-right Croatian Pure Party of Rights (HCSP). Croatian police ban far-right parties’ rally Croatia’s Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic has confirmed that the Croatian police had banned the rally, adding that such gatherings will not take place in Croatia. He stressed that it was everybody’s responsibility was to stand up to such ideas. “Those who call for snatching of territories can come as tourists but not as political protesters and those who organize the protests need to know that something like that will not pass. Gathering of those who call for destruction of legal order will not be allowed,” Milanovic pointed out. “If those were Croatian parties, all right, but bearing mind that those are foreign parties that are calling for persecution of Serbs and Roma and for grabbing of territories, such things will not pass in Croatia,” he added. The International Nationalist Conference, organized by the HCSP was supposed to gather representatives of extreme nationalists from Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria, France and Belgium. The far-rightists were planning on holding a march in downtown Zagreb on Saturday in support of convicted Croat Generals Mladen Markac and Ante Gotovina. The announced rally has been condemned by the Croatian public and anti-fascist groups have announced counter-rallies. Croatian police ban far-right parties’ rally

Croatia’s Prime Minister Zoran Milanović has confirmed that the Croatian police had banned the rally, adding that such gatherings will not take place in Croatia.

He stressed that it was everybody’s responsibility was to stand up to such ideas.
