Russia's Ambassador to NATO Dmitry Rogozin says the latest actions of KFOR at the administrative line with Kosovo are provoking a new conflict in the region. He added that the Alliance was ignoring calls to form a commission which would investigate crimes against civilians in northern Kosovo. “NATO provoking conflicts in Balkans“ “It seems my colleagues in NATO obviously do not understand the possible consequence of their involvement in the conflict,“ Rogozin told Russia Today television on Wednesday, pointing out that NATO was making another mistake by provoking a new conflict in the Balkans. The Russian TV has reported that the ambassador has asked NATO to form a commission which would investigate crimes against civilians in Kosovo. “I have asked that an objective investigation be carried out into what the so-called NATO peacekeepers are doing in Kosovo. But they are ignoring my question,“ Rogozin said. He also stressed that NATO was blocking the only lifeline between Kosovo Serbs and Serbia and accused the international peacekeepers they were involved in the civilian conflict in the north of the province. “Instead of taking a status-neutral position in line with the UN Security Council resolution, they are siding with the Kosovo Albanians,“ Rogozin pointed out. “We are witnesses to open lies as to what measures were used against the civilian population in Kosovo. We have been told only rubber bullets and tear gas were used in the incident on Tuesday. But based on information from the hospital, the victims all have gun shot wounds,“ he told the Interfax news agency. Rogozin pointed out Russia would support and protect the civilians and the decisions of the UN Security Council.
