NATO airstrikes pounded an area of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s hometown of Sirte on Wednesday. They came as forces from the interim leadership launched their own assault from outside the city. NATO agrees to extend Libya campaign NATO, which has agreed to extend its air and sea campaign by three months, said its latest strikes hit military targets belonging to Gaddafi loyalists.
