MEXICO CITY Mexico supports Serbia is terms of its national and state interests, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated on Sunday. He attended the inauguration ceremony of new Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto. Mexico supports Serbia, prime minister says “Mexico is a big country which has not recognized Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence, and that is greatly important for other countries that are watching over Mexico's reactions in relation to Kosovo,” Dacic stressed. “Serbia has special interest in political relations with America, both Central and Southern, and I believe that we should cherish the friendly relations we have build up with Mexico and other Latin American and North American countries over the last few decades,” the prime minister underlined. He said that even today there was a monument to Josip Broz Tito in Mexico, stressing that Mexico and Serbia were friendly countries which had well-developed relations in many fields of social life. The inauguration ceremony was an opportunity to confer with both new President Nieto and his predecessor Felipe Calderon. The prime minister underlined that he also conferred with a great number of foreign statesmen who attended the inauguration, including U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, leaders of Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, and deputy presidents of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and a number of other countries. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by United Nations General Assembly President Vuk Jeremic. Dacic also met with one of the richest people in the world Carlos Slim, who pledged to consider the offer of the Serbian prime minister to come to Belgrade and see which Serbian sectors could be interesting for his investments.
