BELGRADE The State Audit Institution (DRI) chief is dissatisfied with the fact that only seven final verdict were delivered out of 197 charges pressed by the agency. The DRI complaints were filed for irregularities in spending the state budget funds. DRI chief dissatisfied with number of verdicts "Only seven verdicts are final, 15 in the first-instance proceedings, 11 of which are guilty ones," Radoslav Sretenovic told Serbia's public broadcaster RTS. Sretenovic is of the opinion that penalties need to be more severe, as the fine of RSD 20,000 (some EUR 170) was "ridiculous" punishment for misuses related to public procurement. "The new law on public procurements should simplify the procedure and make the penalties stricter, and even introduce a criminal responsibility for the most serious omissions," he said.
