President Boris Tadic says Serbia should wait for the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in good faith. He evaluated that this decision would be "dominantly in the field of law and not in the field of politics". Tadic expects debate to center on intl. law “I expect this discussion to be focused on international law. In terms of international law, Serbia is now in a far better position than in the 1990s, when we faced problems with Kosovo and Metohija which were then internationalized and led to a political and security free-fall,” Tadic told reporters in the town of Prokuplje today. He pointed out that "a lot of energy was required to transfer the issue of Kosovo to the field of law and diplomacy", and added that Serbia, "now in a much better position", was "eagerly awaiting the decision of the ICJ". Tadic also stated that the fact that the worlds' "biggest countries" would participate in the ICJ debate "proved that Serbia enjoyed credibility in the international community and that the issue of Kosovo has a global character".
