According to the Electoral Commission (RIK) final count, 6,749,688 citizens are registered to vote in the coming elections. RIK confirmed at last night’s session in Belgrade that citizens could cast their votes at 8,682 polling stations, adding that 157 stations would be available for internally displaced persons from Kosovo. At the same time, there are a total of 201,751 citizens entitled to vote in the local ballot in the province. This number includes those eligible to cast their votes at special polling stations. All media who broadcast in Serbian and languages of ethnic minorities will publish instructions on how citizens can vote. This information will be broadcast on television and radio stations starting today. The election silence, imposed on midnight Thursday, will be lifted as the polls close at 20:00 CET Sunday. On May 11, voters will elect 250 lawmakers to the parliament, 120 deputies to the assembly of Vojvodina, and municipal deputies in 24 cities and 150 municipalities. A total of 22 tickets are competing in the parliamentary elections, 10 of those submitted by parties and coalitions representing Serbia's ethnic minorities.
