The Serb Radical Party (SRS) has the strength to take responsibility and meet the citizens' great expectations, deputy party leader Tomislav Nikolic says. Nikolic was addressing a campaign rally in Smederevo Saturday when he said many people are unsatisfied with the situation in Serbia, and that many look to the SRS for salvation, because his party is "ready to work day and night for Serbia to move forward". Radicals: Ready to take responsibility "I ask you – give us jobs on May 11, and we will give you jobs on May 12," he told the gathering. Nikolic added that the voters will make a decision about their lives at the May 11 elections, and that no obligation should be more important on that day. He told the Smederevo residents, his party supporters, that in case they are living well, they should vote for Tadic, Dinkic, Djelic, Canak, but that, "in case they are not doing so well, if they are poor, they should back the Radicals". "We need only one mandate, only four years to clean up this Serb house, which will never be dirty again," he added. The deputy SRS leader repeated that the party's position on Kosovo and the EU is well-known: Kosovo and Metohija is Serbia, while Belgrade can talk to the EU only if it confirms Kosovo is a part of Serbia. Nikolic also said the Radicals find the citizens' low standard of living, poverty, unemployment, people lacking money for education and healthcare a "bigger issue", and added Tadic and Kostunica are both avoiding this subject. He said foreign investment is welcome in the country, and that the SRS will guarantee the safety of foreign capital, adding that threats Serbia will become isolated in case his party wins are baseless. "There's things to do, and there's partners do work with, you will see after May 11," he said, and added Serbia is open to friends in the world, but only those who do not come to threaten, blackmail and choose her government. "The boss of the Radicals will be neither in Brussels, Washington, nor Moscow. The boss will be exclusively the people of Serbia, to whom we turn for advice and strength," he told the crowd. Party officials Natasa Jovanovic and Dragan Todorovic also addressed the Smederevo rally. A scene from the Smederevo rally (Tanjug)
