As in previous years, January 1 in Belgrade saw a humanitarian festival dubbed the Open Heart Street. This year the open air campaign, that includes music, dancing, food and drinks for its participants, and entertainment from costumed Father Frosts and fairies, was held on a route from Makedonska to Svetogorska St. 2010 starts with humanitarian campaign The festivities have the goal of gathering money for charity – this year for a foster center in the village of Milosevac. There are currently 180 children in foster care with the families from this village. They money was gathered with greeting cards sold in the streets, with proceedings going toward the cause. Later in the day, the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a donor lunch. B92 TV is broadcasting the event live.
