The advisory was made in view of the escalating armed conflicts in Libya and the extremely volatile security situation in Tripoli.

Serbian citizens currently residing in Libya on various grounds may contact the embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tripoli for specific instructions, the ministry said in a statement.

The Serbian embassy in Tripoli remains open at this time, but can provide only limited consular protection due to the situation there.

The embassy is giving warnings regarding the crisis situation in Tripoli and its vicinity, as well as information on possible routes for leaving Libyan territory.

The Tripoli international airport is closed, while other airports are operating in a limited manner, without specific flight schedules.

One of the possible routes for leaving Libyan territory is by land, via Tunisia, the statement said.
