Minister confirms joint Serbian-US paratroopers exercise
Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin has confirmed that Serbian and US paratroopers would hold a joint exercise.
According to him this is a part of the Serbian Army's regular activities.
"We are a neutral country, but we will be preparing, training and working with everyone from whom we can learn something, and who can learn something from us," he said on Thursday at the Nikinci Range, where he attended a presentation of some of the new weapons and equipment from the Project 1500+ initiative.
"Like every military neutral country, we are working hard, we will strive and we are succeeding in having very good relations with the United States and the Russian Federation, with both SCTO and NATO, therefore, with everyone from whom we can learn something and who can learn something from us. They are well, and Serbia will continue to behave in this way," Vulin added, according to the Ministry of Defense.
As announced, the exercise in question will be held next week in Serbia.
Speaking about Serbia's choice to participate in a global coalition against Islamic State, Vulin said that the fight against terrorism is fought "not only with tanks, but also with intelligence work."
"We will participate in the fight against terrorism. This nation has never turned their head away from evil, I do not see why this generation would do that," the minister said.
