Tanjug was told on Thursday morning by the city's medical emergencies center that their patient "P.R." was in a stable condition, and that his life was not threatened by the injuries.

B92 learned unofficially that the shooting happened after a short altercation in the hotel's lobby.

Rankovic is a well-known businessman who owns the company Invej, as well as Happy TV, a broadcaster with national coverage.

The Interior Ministry (MUP) confirmed that the incident took place in the hotel, located in Kraljice Natalije Street, and that P.R., born in 1962, had been shot in the leg.

Later in the day, the MUP said that the shooter had been identified as Z.R., and that the police were looking for him.

B92 has learned that the suspect is Zeljko Rutovic, another businessman, who is also known for his appearance in the "See you in the Obituary" documentary about the crime scene in Serbia during the 1990s.
