"Serbia loses EUR 250 million each year to grey economy"

Notable progress has been made over the past year and a half in suppressing the black market, but the state still suffers substantial losses, Miletic said on Monday at the regional AmCham conference "Next Round - Fighting Grey Economy".

He pointed out that the full implementation of the Law on inspection oversight, set to begin in April 2016, should make way for much better results.

The Service for Crime Suppression has seized RSD 188 million worth of excise goods this year, said Zlatko Pantelic, the head of the service, adding that better coordination is necessary between the inspection services, courts and prosecutor's offices.
