The foreign minister in Serbia's outgoing government, Vuk Jeremic, conferred with British Foreign Secretary William Hague in London on Thursday. Jeremic, who will chair the UN General Assembly during the next year, announced earlier that he will have a series of consultations on the UN with crucial actors of the world organization by the end of the summer. Jeremic told reporters that one of the subjects that came up during today's meeting he had with Hague was the political situation in Serbia and the negotiations to form a government. The foreign minister said that it was underlined several times that "the British would not interfere in that process", and that this country considers it important that a Serbian future government, "however it may be composed", has "democratic legitimacy and European orientation".
