Citizens rallied in the western Serbian town of Banja Koviljaca on Sunday, demanding from the authorities to solve the issue of large number of asylum seekers. Around 500 people gathered in Banja Koviljaca downtown. They claim that the asylum seekers are destroying the image of the popular tourist town and are scaring the local residents. The organizers point out they are not racists or being intolerant but that they are only requesting from the state to solve the issue of more than 2,500 foreign citizens, mainly from Afghanistan and Somalia, because the Asylum Center in Banja Koviljaca only has room for 84 persons.
