K. Albanians announce Caribbean recognitions

Kosovo was recognized by 14 member states of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), a Kosovo Albanian official said.

Kosovo was recognized by 14 member states of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), a Kosovo Albanian official said. The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister of the government in Pristina, Behgjet Pacolli. K. "These countries reached the decision on recognition of Kosovo's independence at the last meeting of this organization, while each state will officially recognize Kosovo in the coming hours, days," it said. Ethnic Albanians in Kosovo unilaterally declared independence in February 2008, but Serbia rejected the proclamation as an illegal act of secession.
