Kosovo will introduce visa regime for the countries that majority of refugees come from, Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore writes. Some European, African, Asian and Latin American countries are on the list, including some that have recognized Kosovo’s independence. Kosovo borders will remain open for the EU member states, countries of the region, U.S. and developing countries. However, Kosovo Foreign Ministry has not confirmed the information. Deputy Foreign Minister Ibrahim Gashi said that he could not answer the question because he had only been in office for a short time. Koha Ditore pointed out that Kosovo had not had visa regime since 1999. Citizens of Kosovo can only travel to Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro and Turkey without visas. Foreign citizens can stay in Kosovo up to 90 days and need to register themselves with police after that.
