Gunfire was opened at a moving vehicle carrying Hiseni Ahmeti, a candidate for the mayor of Kosovska Mitrovica. There were no injuries, and the perpetrators remain unknown, reports said. Shooting incident in Kosovo campaign Kosovo police, KPS, spokesman Besim Hoti said the incident happened at around 18:30 CET on Thursday, and that shots were fired at the ethnic Albanian politicians as he was driving to an election rally. "There are no consequences other than the material damage," said Hoti. The incident is the second in as many days, ahead of the November 15 local elections in the province, organized by the Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina. On Wednesday, Hashim Thaci's car was pelted with stones and eggs near Decani, in an incident believed to have been staged by the Ramush Haradinaj-led Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK). Ahmeti, who came under fire a day later, is running on the AAK ticket.
