Small, social democratically-oriented parties are holding informal talks on forming a single party, the result of which will be known in autumn, writes Novosti. The daily states, quoting unofficial reports, that those involved include Rasim Ljajic’s Sandzak Democratic Party (SDP), Nebojsa Covic’s Social Democratic Party and Zoran Dragisic’s Independent Social Democrats, while other like-minded parties could join the talks soon. "Social democrats to form united front?" If an agreement is reached, the new party will be formed in the autumn, when its founding congress would be held, states Novosti’s source, adding that the party’s leader would be Ljajic. He recently said that he would not do anything, or enter any alliance, without the approval of the Democratic Party, the SDP’s strategic partners. Should the SDP ally with the countries’ other social democratic parties, the daily writes that it would continue to operate in Sandzak independently, while being part of a broader electoral union at republic level.
