B92 understands that the DS-led “For a European Serbia” list and the coalition grouped round the Socialists have reached an agreement to form a government. However, no consensus has yet been reached with regards to the division of ministries and other influential posts. Sources: DS, SPS reach final agreement B92’s sources say that the decision will be announced at the weekend, and that the cabinet could be appointed within the next 10 days. Although the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) has denied that they have been conducting any kind of talks with the Democratic Party (DS) over the last fortnight, unofficial talks have intensified. Such a government would have the support of 102 “For a European Serbia” MPs, 20 MPs from the SPS-Associated Pensioners’ Party-United Serbia coalition, seven minority party representatives, and 13 Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) members. The LDP has said that it will support a coalition between “For a European Serbia” and the SPS in order “to form a European government.” That makes 142 MPs altogether.
