A clash between Red Star fans and MUP officers left one policemen wounded this afternoon in Belgrade. The serious incident happened at half-time of the MSL match between Red Star and Hajduk Kula, when a group of fans attacked a police officer in plain clothes, by throwing lit flares at him from a close distance. Hooligans seriously injure policeman during match The policeman was filming two crowds of fans who engaged in a fight. The MUP has introduced the practice in a bid to stem the rising tide of violence at the Serbian sports venues. But the hooligans turned on the officer, who then pulled a gun and fired two warning shots in the air, after which the Gendarmerie forces intervened to create a cordon separating their colleague from the crowd. B92 has learned that the officer is treated at the military clinic, the VMA, with serious injuries. Three Red Star fans have so far been placed under arrest, according to Beta.
