BELGRADE The Committee for Traffic Safety has warned drivers not to take to the road without using appropriate lamps due to thick fog in many parts of the country. The committee's president, Damir Okanovic, told Beta that drivers are under obligation to "see and be seen," and should therefore "check their signalization," and make sure their speed matches the visibility constraints. Drivers warned about fog after 7 die in separate crashes Okanovic also advised pedestrians to wear "brightly colored clothes," and only walk along the left side of the road where there are no sidewalks. These warnings came after seven people lost their lives in the space of 24 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, in several separate traffic accidents. On Thursday morning, the busiest, first priority roads were partially wet, without snow, many under fog, the public company JP Putevi Srbije said, and advised drivers that they should have winter equipment and snow chains as those wet surfaces may freeze during the night.
