Daily Politika writes that dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina could begin before the end of the year. Politika cites sources in Brussels, claiming that the EU mediated talks could begin before the end of the year, though it is still not known where and when they would take place and what the topic of these discussions would be. “Dialogue with Pristina by year’s end” “There is no doubt that Serbia has taken a huge step for its European future and the future of the entire region, showing political maturity. It behaved like a partner, and that is very important,” the daily’s source said. However, Serbia’s EU candidacy is not directly tied to the Kosovo resolution that was adopted, the source said. “Serbia has confirmed its European orientation with this agreement with the EU, and that is a big plus,” the source said. The source reminds, however, that two EU member-states have yet to form new governments, Holland and Belgium, therefore, the discussion of Serbia’s bid for candidate status could be postponed until December. “If you are asking me what the majority opinion in the EU is regarding Serbia’s demand, most believe that there should be no delays in discussing it,” Politika’s source said.
