Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic has stated that the resolution on Kosovo that Serbia submitted to the UN is meaningless. He told B92 that not a single problem had been solved in the UN General Assembly and that it is not a place for solving the Kosovo issue. LDP: Kosovo resolution meaningless Jovanovic said that Serbian high officials have been sitting on two chairs—a Kosovo and a European one—in the past two years and that such a position is not sustainable anymore. “The UN General Assembly is not a place for solving the issue of Kosovo because not a single problem was solved there. Brussels is the place where the future of Kosovo should be talked about, and the ability of Serbia to contribute to a better life in Kosovo,” he stressed. The LDP leader said that Serbia “completely lost the power of influence on the lives of people in Kosovo”. “The problem of the Kosovo status is inherited and it is a consequence of the society’s deformation. Was it necessary for Bekim Fehmiu to die in order for us to realize that there are good Albanians?” he asked Jovanovic said that Serbia was, in terms of gross domestic product (GDP), quality of life and stability, currently at 40 percent of the level from 1989, adding that “objects to many things that current and former President Boris Tadic and Vojislav Kostunica” have done. “The price of a bad policy, in which we even let (Serbian Progressive Party leader) Nikolic build a new image, forgetting the past 20 years, is measured with the price of a liter of oil, a cubic meter of gas, the quality of health services, the level of pensions,“ the LDP leader concluded.
