Air Serbia "has chance to become leading Balkan airline"

Brand repositioning and acceptance of changes within the company means that Air Serbia will become profitable by the end of the year, Hogan told Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) on Tuesday, adding that he believes that the company will be one of the most successful in the world.

Turning a negative into a positive balance sheet was the least we could achieve, and making a modest profit is simply remarkable. This was accomplished with the help of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and Siniša Mali as Chairman of the Board, Hogan said.

"We are working closely with our shareholders, the Board of Directors, and aerospace maintenance and engineering company Jat Tehnika, and we plan to open new premises at the Belgrade airport - the same thing we do in other parts of the world," Hogan explained.

He stressed that Etihad is committed to investing in people and services, improving aircraft efficiency and brand performance, reducing expenditures and improving the flow of traffic through Belgrade.

Air Serbia plans to introduce direct flights from Belgrade to US, said Hogan, adding that commercial reasons and profitability are the most important.

Hogan stressed that he is very proud of Air Serbia's results and the way in which its cabin crews accepted additional training. He added that he believes that Air Serbia provides some of the best services in Europe, noting that Serbian pilots have earned their excellent reputation long ago.
