The Russian embassy in Belgrade has sent a protest note to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs over inappropriate statements made by Cedomir Jovanovic. The Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) leader and MP Jovanovic made the comments while a guest on a B92 TV talk show late on Sunday. Jovanovic also described Russia's policy toward Serbia as "colonial and humiliating". The Russian embassy reacted to this by sending its official protest note, reports Belgrade-based daily Blic. This is not the first time that the MFA has had to deal with protests caused by Jovanovic's statements - previously, a number of African ambassadors sought apology after the LDP leader accused FM Jeremic of "traveling to (meet with) cannibals in Africa".
