"DM to be held responsible if accusations are true"

The prime minister in this way commented on weekly Vreme's report

that the Anti-Corruption Council had launched proceedings against Gasic on suspicion that he, while serving as mayor of Krusevac, allocated budget funds to companies owned by his family members.

However, Vucic added that "ahead of provincial elections in Vojvodina some people are handing out huge amounts of money, RSD 700 million, to provincial media so they could lead a campaign against the government."

He stressed that "it is important that all similar allegations are investigated," and that it would be "bad if they turned out to be true - but it would be very bad if it is confirmed that the province is giving RSD 700 million ahead of elections precisely to those from whom it expects the most support for maintaining the criminal and catastrophic six-year governing."

Asked "what will happen if it is determined that the allegations related to the minister of defense are true," Vucic said Gasic would "certainly be held responsible."
