Every public gathering has certain security risks, the football derby is risky too but nobody is even thinking about banning it, Pride Parade organizers say. Pride Parade Organizing Committee member Goran Miletic pointed out that this year’s atmosphere was different than the atmosphere in 2010 and especially in 2009 because there were fewer calls for violence. “Atmosphere ahead of gay parade better than previous years” “Media report differently, more carefully, the media reports have shifted toward political level. Besides, there are no graffiti in the streets and public violence speeches,” he told B92. Miletic underscored that cooperation with the state organs was excellent but that verbal support needed to become more concrete. “The state bodies have three ways of preventing some gathering. The first is a formal ban, when some gathering does not meet the preconditions envisaged by the law. The second way is an actual ban, as it was the case with the 2009 Pride Parade, when the organizers were asked to change the location of the Pride. And the third way is a lack of state organ’s actions,” he said.
