Albania will donate weapons and ammunition to Afghanistan, so as to contribute to the efforts of the international community in the fight against terrorism.

Albania will donate weapons and ammunition to Afghanistan, so as to contribute to the efforts of the international community in the fight against terrorism. This was officially announced in Tirana. Tirana to donate weapons to Afghanistan “Albania will give the Afghan police around 30,000 pieces of automatic 7.62mm weapons, and 50 million bullets,” the Albanian government announced. Albania became a NATO member in April 2008, and has a military contingent of 306 soldiers in Afghanistan. Albanian soldiers are also a part of the EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other NATO peacekeeping missions.
