The Brnjak and Jarinje administrative crossings are open for traffic but EULEX still does not have full freedom of movement in northern Kosovo, EULEX says. EULEX Spokeswoman Irina Gudeljevic told reporters that the “barricades still represent a problem”, pointing out that EULEX demanded full freedom of movement in northern Kosovo. “Barricades still represent problem” “The barricades are still a problem. EULEX customs officers and police who have executive authority are at the Brnjak and Jarinje crossings and Kosovo customs officers and police are also there,” she noted. The Brnjak crossing is open for all types of traffic, including commercial, while the Jarinje crossing will be open for commercial traffic after rebuilding of the checkpoint which was set on fire last summer when conflicts broke our after Pristina violently attempted to establish control in the north. All the excise goods are from the Jarinje crossing redirected to the Merdare checkpoint and goods from the Brnjak checkpoint to a terminal in southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Beta
