Police were alerted yesterday of a bomb placed in a local technical school in northern Kosovo. After an intensive search, however, it was confirmed that the bomb threat had been a hoax, according to the regional branch of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) in Kosovska Mitrovica. Bomb scare in northern Kosovo school According to a KPS statement, police received the information yesterday morning from the school principal, who had been notified of the bomb via a text message. The message said, “An explosive device has been placed in the school and will explode in five minutes,” according to the statement. KPS officers from the local Zubin Potok municipality, where the school is located, police operations chiefs, patrol supervisors, KPS investigators and special French and German KFOR units all arrived at the scene. All the staff and students were evacuated from the school while police secured the location, after which a search of the premises was conducted. No explosives were found.
