He added the United States continued to exert strong pressure on the Serbian authorities to search for the two former Bosnian Serb leaders still at large, and extradite them to the Hague Tribunal, where they are wanted on war crimes charges.

“We hope the new government in Belgrade will finally do its share of the work. We are encouraged by Zdravko Tolimir’s arrest and I hope new action of the same kind will follow soon,” Williamson said.

He said he was aware about reports that another Hague fugitive, former Serbian police General Vlastimir Đorđević, charged with crimes in Kosovo, was in Russia.

“We have held talks with the Russians on this subject several times. The Tribunal claims he is indeed there. Without clear information about his whereabouts not much can be done. Without the political will, little can be done,” Williamson told the newspaper.
