Two Serbs released from custody, but not Ivanovic

They have been charged with committing the crimes of aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder in Kosovska Mitrovica in 2000.

Vlajic told Tanjug that they no longer had to be on remand in custody since all witnesses in their cases had been heard.

Vujacic and Lazovic, Citizens’ Initiative SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic, retired Serbian police colonel Dragoljub Delibasic and Ilija Vujacic, who has been defending against the charges against him out of custody since the beginning of the trial, are all jointly charged in a single indictment.

Ivanovic is accused of committing the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population in 1999, and is facing a sentence of five years to a lifetime in prison. The four other Serbs are facing sentences of varying numbers of years in prison.

The trial started on December 18 last year and all the accused pleaded not guilty.
