"Hungary has been sent a protest this evening over the attack on RTS reporters by Hungarian police, along with a request to determine who was responsible, and for this kind of incident not to happen again," Dacic's statement issued late on Wednesday said, and added:

"Hungary and Serbia have friendly relations and everything should be done to preserve them in these crisis situations as well."

The incident happened earlier that day on the border between the two countries, when the RTS crew, reporting about clashes between migrants and Hungarian police, came under attack by police officers, despite identifying themselves as journalists.
