An Interior Ministry (MUP) unit checked the premises and determined that the tip off was a hoax. Employees and citizens then returned to the building.

The Palace of Justice houses the First, the Second, and the Higher Belgrade courts, as well as relevant prosecutor's offices.

The building was evacuated over 70 times due to fake bomb alerts in 2008, sent mostly by persons who wanted to postpone certain trials. The number of these incidents decreased after stricter penalties were introduced.
