Explosion rocks northern Kosovska Mitrovica

Unknown perpetrators threw an explosive device at Tahir Memović’s house in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica on Thursday evening.

Seven persons were inside the house when the bomb went off but nobody was injured.

Kosovo police came to the scene and KFOR and EULEX members were also present.

There have been around 20 similar incidents in Kosovoska Mitrovica in the last two months. Perpetrators still have not been found.

Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo Coordinator Zlata Radovanović has condemned the attack and called on the international community and the Serbian government to react and stop the frequent incidents.

“Naturally, we strongly condemn it and call on all members of the international community, KFOR and EULEX, to immediately and inevitably find the perpetrators and punish them in accordance with their missions,” she told Tanjug.

She urged the Serbian government to try to solve the issue of frequent incidents in Kosovska Mitrovica with diplomatic means and called on the Serb population to remain calm but “ready to react in every situation”.
