BELGRADE Health Minister Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic has said that she "expects neither a cabinet reshuffle, nor new elections at this moment." The high ranking official of the ruling Socialists (SPS) told the Belgrade-based daily Blic that "until our status related to the signing of the agreement has been appraised and further steps determined, anything else is unlikely to be put forward as the government's priority." "There will be neither reshuffle, nor early elections" However, Djukic-Dejanovic continued, "the government is not stepping back in front of any challenge," and was ready "to analyze the work of ministers and perhaps seek better solutions." Asked to comment on opinion polls that showed the SPS losing the most when it comes to its rating among voters, the minister said that "difficulties decisions" are never popular at the time they are made. According to her, the Kosovo negotiations so far have been "one of the most difficult political activities" which have been primarily the burden of party leader and prime minister, Ivica Dacic. As for her own ministry, Djukic-Dejanovic stated she "could not say she regretted" taking the job, and that "small seven-league steps" must be taken in the healthcare sector under the present circumstances. She singled out problems concerning "a quality organization of public procurement, the IT system, and remuneration according to related diagnostic categories."
