“UN should verify solutions for Kosovo issue”

BELGRADE Serbia’s PM Ivica Dacic and UNMIK Head Farid Zarif have agreed that all solutions for Kosovo problems should be in accordance with UNSC Resolution 1244. They agreed that the solutions should also be verified by the UN Security Council. “UN should verify solutions for Kosovo issue” The Serbian government stated in a release that Dacic and Zarif had agreed that it was necessary to secure peace and stability in Kosovo and that the dialogue was irreplaceable in solving of all issues. They assessed at the meeting that refraining from unilateral moves was a condition for peace and sustainable stability. “Only a just solution guarantees permanent stability in Kosovo and Metohija,” Dacic said and expressed concern over the fact that the investigation of the illegal organ trade during conflicts in Kosovo had not made enough progress and that there was a great resistance toward solving of the crimes in Kosovo. Dacic and Zarif agreed that the provisional institutions in Pristina did not adequately react to frequent attacks on the Serbian population and monuments, reads the release. “The Serbian government honors the agreements reached in the Belgrade-Pristina technical dialogue and believes that we should overcome different interpretations of the agreed solutions,” Dacic told Zarif.
