BELGRADE Serbia and other countries of the region are experiencing a new heat wave, which will reach its peak on Tuesday. Daily temperatures are exceeding 40 degrees centigrade in many places on Monday, while even hotter weather is expected for tomorrow. Another heat wave hits Serbia, region Belgrade reported 27 degrees at 07:00 CET on Monday - while the coolest location in the country at that time was the mountainous region of Sjenica, with 11 degrees. Cooler weather is expected starting Wednesday. Elsewhere, morning temperatures in Croatia that reached 29 degrees in Dubrovnik, Split and Sibenik confirmed forecasters' predictions that this would be one of the hottest days this summer. Montenegro has been hit by a new heat wave, and its national weather institute has said that maximum temperatures in the coming days would be as high as 42 degrees. August 24, 2007, has been the hottest day in Montenegro, when 44.2 degrees were recorded in Podgorica. That same year, 43 degrees were recorded in Belgrade. The situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina is no better. It will be extremely hot there, with the maximum temperature of 42 degrees.
