League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) and Democratic Party (DS) have started talks on types and modalities of a possible pre-election cooperation. LSV leader Nenad Canak has confirmed that he had spoken to Serbian President and DS leader Boris Tadic about the political situation in the country, the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, continuation of Serbia’s EU integration process and other issues. LSV, DS discuss pre-election cooperation “We have also started operative party talks that will be finalized in several days on a wider meeting where we will specify types and modalities of the pre-election cooperation,” he told Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik. Canak stressed that the LSV and DS still had not agreed on the order of the candidates on a joint list for the parliamentary elections but added that the two parties had reached an agreement in principle four years ago. According to him, the agreement envisages “forming of a block that would win citizens’ support to form a new government”. The LSV leader noted that he still had not decided whether he would run for Vojvodina Executive Council chairman but pointed out that he was ready to take any position that would help improve the provincial administration.
