An unknown person set weekly Akter Director and Editor in Chief Tihomir Trisic’s car on fire in Novi Sad early on Thursday. The Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) has requested a police investigation. Novi Sad: Weekly editor's car set on fire According to UNS, Trisic’s Citroen C6 was set on fire around 3:00 CET on Thursday. The perpetrator first poured gas all over the vehicle. The car, which was parked in front of the weekly’s headquarters, was completely destroyed. Trisic told UNS that there were some persons who were against issues that the weekly was reporting on, but added that he was convinced that the attackers would be found and put on trial. UNS expects police to tell the public the names of the perpetrators of the act aimed at intimidating journalists and the media as soon as possible and the judiciary to punish them and those who gave them the orders. The association also requested police to take all necessary measures in order to ensure Trisic’s safety.

According to UNS, Trišić’s Citroen C6 was set on fire around 3:00 CET on Thursday. The perpetrator first poured gas all over the vehicle.

The car, which was parked in front of the weekly’s headquarters, was completely destroyed.

Trišić told UNS that there were some persons who were against issues that the weekly was reporting on, but added that he was convinced that the attackers would be found and put on trial.

UNS expects police to tell the public the names of the perpetrators of the act aimed at intimidating journalists and the media as soon as possible and the judiciary to punish them and those who gave them the orders.

The association also requested police to take all necessary measures in order to ensure Trišić’s safety.
