Justice Minister Snezana Malovic says an impartial and thorough Kosovo organ trafficking probe cannot be take place without offering full security to witnesses. “Witnesses have to be fully protected, all cases involving murder and threatening of witnesses have to be thoroughly investigated, and those responsible have to be sanctioned,” Malovic said in an interview with the Banja Luka daily Glas Srpske. Unfortunately, several witnesses in Kosovo war crimes trials have been murdered, many of them have been threatened or their names disclosed by those who wanted to obstruct justice or conceal the truth, Malovic noted. “It is imperative that a full and thorough investigation be carried into the allegations put forward in the (Dick Marty) report. Serbia insists on law and truth. Trafficking in human organs is a crime that has to be fully investigated, and politics must not interfere,” she stressed, adding that “we owe that to the victims and their relatives, as the main prerequisite for establishing reconciliation in the region as a whole.” She qualified Marty's report as very important, and said that it contributes not only to the investigation and the proceedings that will make the perpetrators of those hideous crimes face justice, but also to the creation of a clear and comprehensive picture about everything that has happened in Kosovo and Metohija.
