Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has categorically rejected any possibility of partitioning the province. “An ethnically-based solution is no way out of the situation. Kosovo will be a state within its existing borders,” Thaci said in an interview with Polish daily Dziennik, adding that he “still categorically rejects any kind of partition of Kosovo.” Thaci rules out Kosovo partition The Kosovo prime minister said that he hoped that Serbia would also rather look to the future than the past. “All countries that wish to integrate into the EU must respect European values and norms. We are doing that for our part,” Thaci stressed. He said that Kosovo, with the help of the international community, had been able to create democratic institutions that could assume the running of the province. Thaci added that “Kosovo is already in a position to assume all the powers of a sovereign and democratic state.” “Now, in order to attract much-needed foreign investment, we will focus on improving public infrastructure, propelling the energy sector, strengthening the rule of law, and tackling corruption” the prime minister said regarding the priorities of Kosovo’s second year of unilateral independence.
