The Dutch will not ratify the SAA until the Serbian authorities arrest Ratko Mladic, says Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen. "I would like to emphasize that Serbia’s Euro-Atlantic perspective is of essential importance," he said. Verhagen: Mladic still key condition "Therefore, if they arrest Mladic, we too will back down,” Verhagen told journalists in Zagreb after meeting with Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrakovic. "At the last meeting of EU foreign ministers with Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz, I wasn’t persuaded that Serbia was fully cooperating with the Tribunal. Therefore there’s no need for the Netherlands to take a different position regarding the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA),” Verhagen said. He reiterated that cooperation with the Hague Tribunal was the main condition for ratification of the SAA.
