If Ruudi Völler attitude is typical of the Dutch then I can begin to understand how Dutch settlers supported apartheid in Africa for so long. Their poor lack of judgement, as in Srebrenica, is in evidence again. Not content with being accomplices to one crime (Srebrenica) they’re quite happy to hold Serbia to ransom for the sake of a kangaroo court.

Ah, an other Rashid Vëlle. Such effort can be called "agnum lupo eripere velle" in Latin (to wish the impossible, literally: to wish to rescue a lamb from a wolf).

Because it's "RUDI", not "RUUDI" in German. And it's a well-known name.

http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/voller.jpg

"Ruudi" spelling is wrong, the name "Rudolf" is within family and friends "Rudi", not "Ruudi".

But I am glad, your German is slowly improving.

People like Verhagen did everything to undermine the democratization process in ex-USSR and now we have putin street in Groznij, Chechnya,

You really are a blessing in disguise.
(ZK BG, 8 October 2008 17:38)

Disagree, ZK. He is a catastrophe for Central/East Europe. If not these "Einsteins" the situation would be better all over the area.

And if you look at the political scene in Hungary and to a large degree in Russia: the guilty are already "found". The Gypsies, gays and of course Jews.

Thank you Mr. Verhagen. Please stand firm and keep Serbia out of the EU. We can do so much better than to become servants of falling empires and bankrupt states but we still need time for the wider population to see this clearly.

"I would like to emphasize that Serbia’s Euro-Atlantic perspective is of essential importance," he said.

Also, thank you for confirming my belief exactly and for continuing to keep Serbia out of the melting Euro-Atlantic alliance. You really are a blessing in disguise.

Ruudi Völle! On my opinion you're from the same gang with Verhagen...«Never enugh» Serbia has paid a price much to high :78 days of democratisation,Kosovo,Krajna the most severe sentences than the bosniacs and croats,Milosevic and others died in your prison...I guess you consider your perverted country as Holly? If you had the chance to protect why you didn't do it? Now the dutch are the judges allmighty.Do justice in your own country you still hide some WW2 criminals.

Ruudi Völler,

demanding that mladic be extradited is legit. but the rest of your comment is very superficial. yes, the serbian society has a long way to go (and so do other societies in the region), but it's not true that a "clear" majority votes for nationalists or did you not see the results of the last elections? "milosevic" socialists are accepted not just in serbia, but also in the eu as a legitimate party if they move on. and even if people vote for nationalist parties the question must be asked - why? is it simply because they still want to see the creation of "greater serbia" or because they perceive injustice and double standards from the west (that's the impression i got during my recent trip to serbia)? recently it was reported by the ec that the eu is losing its influence in the un because of perceived double standards, so we are not talking about something outlandish here. wouldn't some positive gestures from the west rather than just blackmail help pro-european parties? the few that came recently seem to have helped.

the aforementioned perception of double standards should give people in the eu countries some food for thought because it is a worldwide perception and it shows that western societies still have some room for improvement. but i won't hold my breath.

What's all this fuss about?
This "new, reformed, democratic, no-Milosovic" Serbia adores and protects war-criminals, has the same ambitions of greater Serbia they had before, votes in a clear mjority radical nationalist and Milosevic-socialist (just imagine, the last mentioned are considered as quite OK). It is nothing but -wrong- to have closer ties with this Serbia. There has got to be reeal change in serbian society.

typical western arrogance.
when will the netherlands send dutch war criminals to serbia?
it is the question if everything is happenend in srebrenica like the oneside western media is telling, there are still unanswered questions and in the future it will be known as a imperialistic hoax, not everybody will believe anymore that all the killed muslims where innocent holey people and how much muslims killed fellow muslims? but it is clear that the western countries had commited war crimes by bombing serbia for months.
so maxime verhagen, when you will send former dutch president kok to serbia or to the tribunal?
